Problems with A FIRST IMPRESSION

the bits I did were: design, artworking, production

Before Mama Dolce could hit retail shelves, they needed investment. Their first event was the Fine Food Fair, where they would interface with those potential purseholders for the first time and wanted to shake out every penny they could.

The problem was that they had only just gotten their product produced for the first time - but that’s all they had.

This needed to be good. The first impression could be make or break in these early startup stages, and I wanted to find any and every way to make this a strong one.

My canvas was a couple of square metres of exhibition booth, my brushes; a few brand assets and about £65 in budget. This’ll work, right?

I plunged into research mode, seeking out furniture and print suppliers who respond to polite begging and pleading for discounts, and identified the lowest cost ways of making the highest budget impact.

Stickers, business cards, booth panels, tablecloths, gift bags and all of the furniture all managed to find a way to fit into the budget, and I took the strong look of the brand and applied it to them all.
