Personal PROBLEMS
the bits I did were: kinda everything

Problem: A desire to create a two colour lino print series
My Idea: Fusing illustration with printing to create a series of vases where each illustrated floral arrangement would differ, printing on reclaimed magazine pages from the London Design Fair 2023
Favourite Detail: The fact they've all been given to friends & family, now spread worldwide

Problem: I miss my cat :(
My Idea: Use those oil pastels sat in the bottom of a draw to draw him
Favourite Detail: His name is onion and I didn't intentionally put him next to the onion soup but orange cats work in mysterious ways

Problem: The marmite jar has a funny shape and I needed to do something with it
My Idea: Lino print & oil pastels to do a little breakfast series
Favourite Detail: How well the moka pot cake out. Real star of the show, like
Problem: I wanted to display some dried flowers I'd been given
My Idea: Making a wall vase from air dry clay to keep 'em around
Favourite Detail: The little hanging chain bit from a cheap old necklace
Problem: Wall art is EXPENSIVE and I just moved into a flat with nice big walls
My Idea: Illustration of the various coffee makers & mugs around the flat
Favourite Detail: Writing absolutely uneccessary copy to create an aesthetic
Problem: I needed a heartfelt gift for my partner for their birthday
My Idea: Custom movie ticket poster of the first 10 films we saw together :)
Favourite Detail: The fake cinema names for when we watched things in my living room
Problem: Wanted a nice lemon meringue pie. Sometime's that's it, you know?
My Idea: Making one. I don't care if it's not professional work, it was damn delicious
Favourite Detail: This cross section (& picking the perfect lemons from the greengrocer)

Problem: Wall art is EXPENSIVE and I just moved into a flat with nice big walls (again) plus I saw someone painting with oils and palette knives and I wanted to try
My Idea: Buy a big canvas, experiment with colour and texture, pair it with fabric and shapes to create something??
Favourite Detail: Whatever you, dear reader, interpret it to be
Problem: The same flat that needed all the other art had these two big translucent panes above some doors, and it needed *something*
My Idea: Use the Kew Gardens poster as inspiration, create faux stained glass greenhouses
Favourite Detail: When the lights are off you can't see the plants inside, which is such a cool reveal

Problem: I wore my new uniqlo shirt to the office and wore the nearly exact same outfit as another (stylish) colleague
My Idea: Create a series of western themed stamp style lino prints to create repeating patterns and jazz it up so we don't ever clash again
Favourite Detail: The barbed wire going down the shirt, and the framed picture I made from the stamps afterwards
Problem: My brother was getting married but all the cheap stuff from their registry had been snapped up
My Idea: To write a poem & paint vignettes of the motorbike our dad had, that I customised (wrecked), and he fixed up to ride away on after his wedding
Favourite Detail: How nostalgic it was to capture the details of our childhood home that had been sold the week before the wedding
Problem: My folder of scavenged collage materials was starting to overflow
My Idea: Purge it by actually making something, and make it remind me to create more
Favourite Detail: The hidden message on one of the sides
Problem: I found a gorgeous gilded frame abandoned on the side of the road
My Idea: Use up some oil paints to capture one of my favourite gigs
Favourite Detail: Two white Russians, the best drink that bar does

Problem: Going for meals with friends is expensive
My Idea: Invite everyone round, make them chop onions, enjoy both excellent company and fantastic French onion soup
Favourite Detail: The cheese and croutons. Again I just shamelessly want to show off my best artistry
Problem: My room has weird curved walls that are hard to put anything on
My Idea: Create a mosaic on foamboard using tape that I can cut and bend to match the curve
Favourite Detail: Having the sun smiling down on me :)
Problem: We needed a birthday card for a regular guest at a community meal I volunteer with
My Idea: Get some paper and draw the same carrot cake we made (nearly) every week
Favourite Detail: The fact I was able to whip it up in 3 minutes & not be late to the session
